Josh Rosen at his Dolphins Press Conference.

The Dive Bar on Galt Ocean Mile in North Fort Lauderdale is your Miami Dolphins NFL games headquarters. We love our Dolphins and there is some great news for Dolfans. There will be a new quarterback to root for as the fish traded away former quarterback Ryan Tannehill to the Tennessee Titans. With that trade, they signed Ryan Fitzpatrick away from Tampa Bay, but the bigger news was that Miami also traded for Arizona Cardinals quarterback Josh Rosen about a month after the Fitzpatrick move.

The Cardinals shipped Rosen to the Dolphins in exchange for Miami’s second-round pick (62nd overall), which the Cardinals used to select wide receiver Andy Isabella, and a 2020 fifth-round pick.

The trade for Rosen signals the Dolphins expect the second-year pro to immediately compete for the starting job.

The 6-foot-4, 226-pound Rosen was one of five quarterbacks selected in the first round in last year’s 2018 draft. He now joins two other draftees from that year in the AFC East. They are New York’s Sam Darnold and Buffalo’s Josh Allen.

Rosen now has the distinction of becoming the highest-drafted quarterback before turning 23 years old in the Common Draft Era. The previous high was Brett Favre, who was the 33rd overall pick with the Atlanta Falcons in 1991.

Rosen also becomes the first quarterback selected in the top 10 to be traded within his first two profession seasons, excluding players traded prior to rookie season. How is that for negative history? Let’s hope he gets many other records that are more positive.

Rosen’s rookie season had its share of ups and downs. The Cardinals struggled to a 3-13 record. Rosen finished the year appearing in fourteen games with thirteen starts. He completed 217 of 393 passes (55.2 percent) for 2,278 yards and 11 touchdowns against 14 interceptions. He was sacked 45 times and posted a 66.7 passer rating.

The Dolphins are counting on those numbers getting dramatically better. So are we at The Dive Bar. We are gonna root Rosen on every week and we want you to come down and watch the games with us.

We have amazing pub grub, the coolest bartenders beachside, a super laid-back atmosphere, delicious drinks as well as beer on tap and bottle. If you have not been here before then this year’s upcoming NFL season gives you the perfect opportunity to get down here and have a blast.
